Wheeler Walker Jr. Tour 2026

Wheeler Walker Jr. is the stage persona of comedian and musician Ben Hoffman, who launched the project in 2016. The musical style is a deliberate and often explicit parody of traditional outlaw country, blending classic country instrumentation—steel guitar, fiddle, upright bass, and twangy electric guitar—with lyrics that are starkly explicit and often comedic in their vulgarity. While the core of the sound is rooted in Bakersfield and Nashville traditions, the lyrical content sets it apart, creating a unique juxtaposition of familiar musicality and shocking, often humorous, storytelling. The live band typically features seasoned musicians who faithfully reproduce the classic country sound, providing a robust musical foundation for Hoffman’s provocative performance.

A Wheeler Walker Jr. live show is a theatrical experience that leans heavily into the persona's provocative nature. Attendees can expect a no-frills stage setup that prioritizes the music and Hoffman's stage presence, rather than elaborate visual effects. The setlist character is a blend of fan favorites and deeper cuts, all delivered with the same unapologetic candor found on his studio albums. The shows are typically held in medium-sized music venues, ranging from historic theaters to larger clubs, which allows for an intimate yet energetic atmosphere. The performance is less about polished choreography and more about the raw, often unscripted, interaction between Hoffman and his audience, punctuated by his signature blend of musicality and comedic shock value.

Throughout his career as Wheeler Walker Jr., Ben Hoffman has released several albums that have solidified the project's unique place in the music landscape. Notable among these are "Redneck Shit," which introduced his distinctive style to a wider audience, and subsequent releases like "Ol' Wheeler" and "WWIII." These albums feature signature tracks that have become staples of his live shows, characterized by their explicit lyrics and traditional country arrangements. While not adhering to mainstream country radio norms, these works have garnered a dedicated following and critical attention within independent music circles for their clever satire and musical authenticity, despite their controversial content.

Wheeler Walker Jr. occupies a distinct niche, appealing to audiences who appreciate both traditional country music and boundary-pushing comedy. His fan base often includes listeners who grew up with classic country and are drawn to the authenticity of the musical style, but who also possess a strong sense of humor and an appreciation for satire. He attracts those who enjoy artists who challenge conventions and are not afraid to be provocative. The shows often draw a diverse crowd, ranging from dedicated country fans with a taste for the irreverent to comedy enthusiasts seeking a unique live experience. It's a space where musical skill meets comedic daring, creating a shared experience for those who appreciate both.

A typical Wheeler Walker Jr. show generally runs for approximately 75 to 90 minutes, often including an encore.
